EMD was a big customer to Woodward over the decades with the PG series locomotive governor as the standard governor equipped on most all the EMD locomotive manufactured. Most of today's locomotives now made have non-Woodward digital engine controls. EMD is now owned by the Progress Rail Locomotive Company and the parent company is the Caterpillar Company (of which the Vanguard Group owns the most stock at 8.62%). Today the Caterpillar Company is one of the bigger Woodward customers. History in the making!
